cTrader Installation Issues

If you have any troubles when installing cTrader, make sure you turn off your antivirus software, but if after installation the application does not work properly you can perform a clean installation.

Clean installation of cTrader

 

For Windows 7/8/8.1/:

  1. Close any running instance of cTrader.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Hold down Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialogue box. Copy and paste appwiz.cpl into it and click OK to open the Programs and Features panel.
  4. Find cTrader in the list of the installed programs, and uninstall it - select it and click Uninstall/Change).
  5. Find the .NET framework in the list, and uninstall it as well (restart your computer if prompted).
  6. Hold down Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialogue box. Copy and paste %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Apps in it, and click OK.
  7. Delete the 2.0 folder and close the Windows Explorer.
  8. Hold down Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialogue box again. Copy and paste %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming in it, and click OK.
  9. Delete the following folders: cTrader, %BROKERNAME% cTrader, %BROKERNAME% cAlgo, %BROKERNAME% cTraderUsers, %BROKERNAME% -cTraderCommon, and close the Windows Explorer.
  10. In the Windows Start Menu select Documents, and rename cAlgo and cTrader folders (so that you will not lose any user data), then restart your computer.
  11. Install the latest .NET Framework from the Microsoft official website.
  12. Restart your computer again.
  13. Download and install cTrader.

 

For Windows 10:

  1. Close any running instance of cTrader.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Hold down Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialogue box, copy and paste appwiz.cpl in it and click OK to open the Programs and Features panel.
  4. Find cTrader in the list and uninstall it - select it and click Uninstall/Change).
  5. Hold down Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialogue box, copy and paste %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Apps into it, and click OK.
  6. Delete the 2.0 folder and close the Windows Explorer.
  7. Hold down Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialogue box, enter %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming in it, and click OK.
  8. Delete the following folders: cTrader, %BROKERNAME% cTrader, %BROKERNAME% cAlgo, %BROKERNAME% cTraderUsers, %BROKERNAME% -cTraderCommon, then close Windows Explorer.
  9. In the Windows Start Menu select Documents, and rename cAlgo and cTrader folders (so that you will not lose any data).
  10. Restart your computer.
  11. Launch Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool.
  12. Download and install cTrader.
