When you download the Neptune trading robots from your account downloads you will find that it is compressed, you need to first uncompress the file. once this is done you will see the files as shown below.

neptune files

Once you have the files uncompressed as shown above you just need to install the algo file by double-clicking on it.

If you are new to cTrader you may have difficulty finding your cBot, follow the link below if you need help.

Installing Updates

We recommend that you backup your cBot settings, when you install a new version it will replace the previous version.
Once you have installed the new version, you can manually update the settings that you previously saved.

Running Old Version & New Versions Together

It's possible to run both versions together, you first rename the old version by right-clicking on the cBot in cTrader Automated and choosing the Rename option. You then install the new version as you would a normal cBot by double-clicking on the file. Make sure you have a unique instance name when using the same symbol, refer to the user guide for help.

Example Settings

Included in the download you will see 2 example parameter settings with the file extension cbotset, these contain optimised settings as shown on the product pages for a trade size of 0.01 lots and 0.05 lots, the values you see as above 8% and 42% show the net profit over 1-year, the risk is determined by the drawdown value that can also be found on the product page for each symbol.

Low 1-Year Backtest Settings

We have provided 1-year backtest settings, this is measured by the amount of maximum balance drawdown that occurs during the backtest.

If for any reason you modify the settings, you can load the original values at any time from the files that were included with the download, the folder is called Trial Parameter Sets as shown above in the image.

Once you have installed the robots (cBots) you are all ready to start trading, but before you start double check that everything is ok by running a backtest, the next section will explain how you can do this.
