How To Write A Project Description

Most people do not like documentation, it is boring and time-consuming, but if you are a trader and you want to have an automated system built that involves a financial risk, then you cannot take any short-cuts and skip the documentation phase, this document is your baby, it will evolve as your strategy grows.

"IF YOU FAIL TO PLAN, YOU PLAN TO FAIL"

Benjamin Franklin

TRADING FOREX PLAN TO FAIL

A clear project specification will help to keep the costs down for you, as it’s able to shorten the developing time. It also ensures you get the project you have in mind right away without several revisions. If the specifications are not very clearly defined or the programming request is complex then it will not be possible to provide you with our fixed flat fee and an accurate turnaround time. This would also mean the pricing for your project would need to be based on whatever time it takes billed on an hourly rate basis.

Why Is It Important

  1. It helps you analyse your system.
  2. It will identify problems with your system before you part with any cash for development costs.
  3. It will show you areas to improve your system.
  4. You can provide the project description to any developer for ongoing work and maintenance.
  5. With a detailed project description from you, we will spend less time clarifying your requirements and quote you a lower rate.

What Information Is Required For a New Automated Trading System

If your system is very simple you can provide your project description in the form of an email, but we may ask you to put it in a document if we feel it would be easier.

  • At least 100 words telling us an overview of your project
  • Full list of all the parameters you would like to adjust yourself
  • A list of all the indicators you plan to use, if you want a custom indicator developed, please use a separate document.
  • All the signals that cause a long position to open
  • All the signals that cause a long position to close
  • All the signals that cause a short position to open
  • All the signals that cause a short position to close
  • Any trade rules like trading hours etc.
  • It would also be useful to add screen-shots of trade entry, exits any anything else that may help us understand how it operates.

Other Automated Systems

All other automated or semi-automated systems that are not automated trading robots will require the following information.

  • At least 100 words telling us an overview of your project
  • Full list of all the parameters you would like to adjust yourself
  • A list of all the indicators you plan to use, if you want a custom indicator developed, please use a separate document.
  • Screen-shots showing how the system will work
  • Full details of the features and not abbreviated explanations.

We Protect your Idea with a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)

If you wish to have some extra protection of your trading idea, then we can offer you a physically signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) which will state that all information you send us is strictly confidential and we will never discuss the project with anybody outside ClickAlgo.com or publish material on the internet or anywhere else. If you wish us to sign an NDA before you send us your requirements than just download the form below and send it to us.

Do I Need An NDA?

An example of someone who may need an NDA is a trader who has been using a manual system for many years and it is proven to make a profit and now they want to automate it and share the idea with a development company, in this case, they would want to protect their trading system with a non-disclosure agreement.

METATRADER EA TO CTRADER CBOT CONVERSION

If you would like to convert an existing MT4,5 Expert Advisor to a cTrader cBot than you can supply the EA source code and do not need to write a project description as described above. Do not send us the EA without the source code, if you can provide documentation also than this would reduce the total development costs.

How Much Does It Cost To Build An Automated Trading System

The price to build you an automated trading robot will all depend on how large and complex your system is, the most efficient method to keep costs down for you is to document your system first in the form of a project description (Requirements Document).  Once we have this document we can provide you with a fixed price and estimated delivery date.

What Is The Average Cost?

In the past 12 months, the average cost for an automated system was £150.00, the lowest was £50.00 and the highest was £1000.00

We also offer a service to optimize your parameters once the robot is complete.

Software Development is like Hairdressing, you get what you pay for, but we provide a great haircut at a very low cost.
