cTrader Telegram Setup & Testing

If you want to receive email alerts from any product you download from ClickAlgo or from any other indicator or cBot you own, the first step is to configure cTrader with your email client credentials. If you are not receiving emails from your cBots, it is probably because you have not configured your email account in the cTrader settings window.

To configure a new Telegram account you will need to install the Telegram application on your mobile device or computer.

How to Test Your Credentials

Once you have configured your Telegram account with BotFather, you can test that it works by sending a test message.

To get started you will need to download the cBot from the page by buying it for free, once downloaded you can follow the instructions at the bottom of this page on how to install and run the cBot with cTrader Desktop.

cBot Parameter Settings

There are 2 settings for the cBot, the Chat ID and Bot Token, once you have these two values you can send Telegram alerts.

Handling Errors?

The Telegram testing tool will show any error messages via a pop-up window, the most common errors are:

• The Telegram bot sleeping, it needs to wake up by self-posting a message.
• The Chat ID is incorrect.
• The Bot Token is incorrect.
• You forgot to enter any of the above values.
