    cTrader Email Setup & Testing

    Find out how to set up your email to be used with cTrader cBots, Indicators and trading software, we also provide a free cBot which will simply send you a test email to check if your cTrader email settings are correct. If you use automated trading robots with email functionality then you will need this before you start.

    If you want to receive email alerts from any product you download from ClickAlgo or from any other indicator or cBot you own, the first step is to configure cTrader with your email client credentials. If you are not receiving emails from your cBots, it is probably because you have not configured your email account in the cTrader settings window.

    To configure your email with cTrader Desktop, you will need to open the settings Window and follow the link below for instructions.

     

    A limitation of the cTrader platform is that you cannot test your email configuration to see if it works.

     

    How to Test Your Settings

    Once you have configured your email account with cTrader, you can test that it works by sending a test message.

    To get started you will need to download the cBot from the page by buying it for free, once downloaded you can follow the instructions at the bottom of this page on how to install and run the cBot with cTrader Desktop.

     

    cBot Parameter Settings

    There are 3 settings for the cBot, the From Email is the email address you used to set up the email account with cTrader, the To Address, is the email address of where you want the message to be sent and the last setting is the actual message.

     

    Handling Errors?

    If you do not receive an email using this testing tool, first take a look at the cBot log, you can find this at the bottom of the screen in cTrader Automate, you may have to open the trade watch window.

    To make sure the email has worked you can also look at the log tab as shown below which will also show any errors.

    Gmail Security Block

    If you are using Gmail then it may have blocked the cTrader Platform from sending emails on your behalf, just click on the link below for a fix.
